What Can I Expect During My First Visit to Dr. Lisa?
Upon walking through the doors of Precision Spinal Care, we hope you feel right at home. The first visit to our office is very involved. Cheryl will greet you as you walk in, and go over the necessary new patient forms with you. (You may also print off a copy of our health history form to fill out before you arrive, located under the "Our Practice" tab on this website.)
During the first visit, Dr. Lisa will speak with you about your current health challenges, and help you with a course of action to bring you back to a state of wellness. She will perform a thorough examination, inlcuding measuring the degree of misalignment in your spine by checking you on the Anatometer. She will also run the Surface EMG and Thermal scans to determine the extent of nervous system interference in your body.
The NUCCA procedure utilizes three very precise x-rays to determine the degree of misalignment. These pictures are also taken on the first visit. Dr. Lisa will analyze these films utilizing geometry, mathematics and physics to calculate exactly how your spine has misaligned, and how to correct your misalignment. It is estimated that there are over 10,000 ways the atlas can misalign on the right, and over 10,000 ways the atlas can misalign on the left. Your misalignment is as unique to you as your finger prints are.
Please plan on 1 to 1 1/2 hours for your first visit. By filling out the new patient history form in advance, you will save yourself some time in the office. You can also watch the NUCCA video online at www.nucca.org to save another twenty minutes in the office.
On your second visit to the office, Dr. Lisa will go through your results and explain to you what she found on the first visit. You then will recieve your first NUCCA adjustment. Following this first adjustment, the three x-rays are taken again to verify the correction. X-rays are only done after the adjustment on this visit, so Dr. Lisa can check her work and verify that your body is back in a normal, aligned state.
Follow up visits are approximately 10-15 minutes. Our patients rest following their adjustment. Research shows that it takes the spine 13-15 minutes to stabelize following a NUCCA adjustment, therefore we ask our patients to rest in order for them to hold their alignment for longer periods of time. Our goal is to have our patients physically holding thier alignment for as long as possible.
